A petroleum refinery was done in 1962 at Hallet Cove, south of Adelaide close to Port Noarlunga; a 2nd refinery at Port Stanvac operated in the region till it had been shut in 2003. Adelaide is related by pipeline with the Gidgealpa organic-fuel fields in Cooper Basin, northeastern South Australia. A focus of rail, sea, air, and road transportation
